How fast are WPZOOM themes?
Here at WPZOOM, we take website performance seriously.
Our themes are one of the most lightweight on the market so that the speed won't be a problem for you. The ZIP files of popular themes like Foodica or Inspiro are currently about 1 MB in size. That's almost 10x smaller when compared to popular premium themes from other providers.
However, it's essential to keep in mind that the theme is not entirely responsible for the performance and speed of your website.
Other factors, such as the number of installed plugins and the performance of your hosting, are influencing your website's speed. In this article, you will find the most crucial WordPress optimizations you need to apply to your website.
WordPress, by its nature, is a lightweight platform and SEO-optimized. Still, in 99% of cases, some steps are needed to optimize your website for speed, as this is not something that’s applied automatically to your website by WordPress or by your theme.
Installing an excellent caching plugin like WP Rocket and hosting your website with a good provider like SiteGround will automatically boost your website and make it probably faster than 90% of websites in the world.
Why is Page Speed so important?
Since many Internet users are visiting your website from mobile devices — which sometimes may have a slower connection than a regular computer — it's essential to make your website as fast as possible.
Typically, website optimization is a comprehensive process and needs individual attention. Nonetheless, here at WPZOOM, we'll always help you with valuable tips that will make a big difference.
WPZOOM Theme Demos & PageSpeed Score
We've noticed that a lot of people are running PageSpeed tests against the demo pages of our themes. While this might seem a good way to tell if a theme is fast or not, we consider that this is not the right way to do it.
The problem is in the numerous plugins that are enabled on these demos to display different features. Without them, all the demos would score a blazing 100/100, but just because we want to show the integration and support with many popular plugins, the performance is partially affected.
On average, there are about 15 plugins active on each demo site, and usually, these are the plugins we feature:
- eCommerce: WooCommerce
- Page Builder: Beaver Builder or Elementor
- Newsletter: MailPoet or MailChimp for WordPress
- SEO: Yoast SEO
- Contact Form: WPForms
- Optimization: Autoptimize, WP Rocket
- Social Media: Social Icons Widget, Instagram Widget
- Recipe Plugin: Recipe Card Blocks
- Jetpack for features like Site Accelerator, Lazy Loading for Images
Plugins like WooCommerce or Jetpack are known to slow down websites if used incorrectly or in a poor hosting environment. Assuming that your website will include only a few of these plugins, you can be sure that your score will be higher than demos.
